cadillac question

I have a 2006 Cadillac DTS.Every once in awhile the service traction control light comes on.We can open the brake fluid reservior and put maybe half teaspoon of fluid in it and it goes off for a long time but it will do it again.Do you think it just gets a drop low and it does that or is it something else?I told hubby i thought it was getting vapored locked lol please tell me i am right lol.

It sounds more like your brake pads maybe worn and need replaced or your sencer maybe going bad, Dont know if you have 4 wheel disc brakes but if you have drum and shoes on the bad they could need adjusted,if you have 4 wheel disc you probly need new disc pads,That is where your extra fluid is going,unless you have a brake line leak or a caliper leaking,Ill still say it woren brake pads or shoes! When it comes to your brakes make sure they are good always,thats all thats between you and an accident or worse.

Thanks Bass hubby thinks maybe the shoes also guess i wasnt right :(

also it could have a build up of dirt on the abs sensors and the car cant tell how fast the wheels are turning

if you take it to a local grage and ask if the car has any soft or hard codes and it might beable to point you in the right direction

ky-woman your very welcome!! When you have to start adding brake fluid you either need to adjust brake shoes or replace disc pads or shoes or both,and the worst is a possible leak. Good Luck and glad to help!!:):):)

I,d be leaning more towards one of the wheel speed sensors acting up.Does the abs light come on as well?If so then I,d suspect a bad sensor,some gm,s the front sensors are part of the front bearing hub assembly.

Not sure but may be a leak because it happens when we sit in park with car running for a while dont even have to be moving.It seems like thats when it does it,and then when we start to drive it it shifts real ruff untill you add a little brake fluid then its ok.No other lights come on.
