Is a Magic Jack worth buying or not? I'm thinking about dropping the land line, getting a MJ and cellphones for the family.

I have 3 of them and love them. Its great not getting that overpriced bill every month from the phone company. They all work great.

I have one of them in Austria with a Florida Area Code so that my chick can call me here in the United States on my cell phone anytime. She sounds like she is in the same room as I am when we talk, very clear.

Best invention ever.

All 3 of mine I paid for the Platinum Package.. about $105 each with shipping for the magic jack and 1st year plus 5 more years.

I have one and love it and like BeachBum said you can set one up with a USA area code and ship it anywhere in the world and there is no long distance charges.

I hear they work great,only thing i have heard is if you have sat internet it eats up your fap time and then it doesnt work till your back to high speed again.

Well My GF live in trinidad...I think it work with your internet connection....so both parties would need to have the internet ON all the time...which is cool.
I'm looking to buy one...So are you telling me I can set it up here in Florida and then ship it to trinidad and all she have to do is plug it in the computer and works that simple?
