Step 2 USE THE BUILT IN SERVICES IN WINDOWS TO SEND FAX FROM COMPUTER Both Windows XP and Vista can send, receive and track faxes without the need for a physical fax machine. This can be a great alternative to the internet services mentioned above, but you have to set it up since the fax component is not installed automatically during setup. There are a couple of links below that will show you how to set up fax from computer capabilities. Step 3 WHICH ONE IS BETTER? Both methods have their pluses and minuses. Generally internet faxes are more secure, but you'll have to pay for them. Faxes sent from Windows are lower cost, but you won't get access to many of the premium features of internet faxes. The answer really depends on which features are important to you.
