Talking KBOX K1 Heros Plus - KHub - Setup To Get IKS

KBOX K1 Heros Plus - KHub - Setup To Get IKS 1. On your pc go to Start – Run – and type in "command" which will take you to the root dir of your pc.
2. Type “ipconfig /all” and press the enter key
3. Make a note of your settings
4. Go to network settings and set your AU (AutoRoll) for both providers to OFF and change from standalone to network
5. Go to Configuration and then network settings
6. Change to Static and put in the values that you got by running the icpconfig /all command ie: 192.168.1.100 (you would put in 192.168.1.103)
7. Change back to DHCP and exit and save
8. Reboot the receiver using the switch on it.
9. Use the remote and turn the box off then on and wait till the green light appears on the khub

After that, you only need to do is turn your AU (AutoRoll) ON for both providers and switch from network to standalone, exit and save. Picture should come in right away.

Alternatively:

Sometimes it can be frustrating to get things done effectively but it takes patience. A number of different approaches by members have produced a positive result. If you start all over at square one... ie - run the activate program on the hub and load khub.rom as a start point and then DO NOT play with your network settings except to make sure you have the dns settings at 4.2.2.2 and 4.2.2.1 you should be able to make the hub work.

Try a different approach:

1. reset the hub while it is connected to the box.
2. make a note of your antenna settings. Then factory default the box a few times.
3. Unhook the hub, take it your pc and run activate prog on the hub and load khub.rom
4. Hook up the box to your pc and load the 1.76 bin using the proper cable.
5. Load the latest bin for the kbox plus, using the proper cable.
6. Hook up box to tv and input your antenna settings and do your other settings ie time and date, time zone settings etc.
7. Leave the khub unconnected for now.
8. Scan your sats as you normally would.
9. Turn the box off and wait about 30 seconds and then back on.
10. Go into Installation - options and change to network with AR off for telephonica, dn and bev. Exit and save.
11. Shut the box off using the switch and connect the hub.
12. Turn the box on and wait about 30 seconds.
13. Check your network settings and see if you get a connection ok and green light.
14. If all that does not work, then you should obtain an appropriate length of Cat 5E cable, run it from your router to the khub and do it all over again at step 9. For about $20 it is well worth the investment.

Alternatively if you have a hard wire setup:

1. Reset the hub to Factory while it is connected to the box. (Menu - Configuration - Network Settings)
2. press the red button on the remote to save DHCP settings.
3. Press green button to reset the hub to factory settings.
4. Set kbox to network with AR off for telephonica, dn and bev. Exit and save. (Menu - Instalation - Options)
4. Exit and save.
5. Shut the box off using the switch for about 20 seconds and then back on.

Note to consider as well:

A while back I unhooked the hub and reloaded the khub.rom file on it because it was continuously red.

I made a note of my antenna settings so that if I had to input them again it would be easy. Then loaded the latest bin on the kbox Plus at the pc. Turned the modem and router off for a few mins.

Turned modem and router back on after I had sync,

With the Kbox on I changed from standalone to network with Autoroll function OFF for the providers and then turned the box off using the switch on the back of it.

Then hooked up the hub to it, turned the box on and connected the power cord to the hub and voila... after about 30 seconds the light turned green. You might want to try that .

With the Prodigy apparently the hub gets power from the box via the rs232 cable so you would just connect that cable between the box and the hub and then turn the box on and wait a few seconds.
