fortec problem

Other Receiver Discussion Thread, fortec problem in Other Receivers; he needs a straight cable for that box......

when loading the boot file you need to have the flu on for it to load than turn it off and load LZMA 209 file

than after its done and reboots

hit 8282
defualt keys save and exit and wait for pic

Default fortec problem

hi
i am using cable which i also use for viewset receiver
and there no problem with transfer files pc to stb.
for fortec receiver i need rs-232 cable 9 pin
i dont no that is right cable or not.
there is any way to know that stb is connected to pc.

Meetu, you have the wrong cable for the fortec. The viewsat uses a null cable and the fortec uses a straight cable. Once you get the right cable you shouldn't have any trouble with the update, just remember to do the boot update first then the bin update.

yes Straight DB9 cable is what you need.

starry is corect on that on the cable. stb showing on load v1.03lzma boot file.stb will reboot it self. and show P U F F"." P U F F"." the period shows lzma compression method was loaded correctly. now load v2.11 bin on first P hit write stb will go to on your done.
