How to scan OTA (DTV) channels to eBox Stealth HD
You can hook up an OTA (over the air) antenna to your eBox Stealth HD and receive digital TV (DTV) programming directly from your local stations, both SD and HD as well as alternate programming channels. To do this is quite easy.
1. Connect an antenna to your eBox Stealth HD antenna input. Do NOT connect the antenna to the satellite antenna connections... only to the terrestrial connection. It is marked "SIGNAL IN" on the back. Again, not the one that is marked "DISH IN". Just about any TV antenna will work, bunny ears, HD antenna, old antenna on your roof, whatever. If you are using an exterior antenna, make sure that the cable goes through a grounding block where it comes inside your home. Otherwise you may end up with a fried receiver or even worse an exploded receiver.
2. On your Stealth HD remote, press "Menu" to get to the main menu. Select "Installation" and then "Auto Scan DTV". The values for the frequency should default to 473000 KHz and 851000 KHz. If they have been changed, change them back. This means only the UHF band will be scanned. Some stations are currently transmitting their DTV signals in the VHF band, this scan will not pick them up. I don't know if you can pick up VHF transmissions.
3. Scan the channels. You should see your locals in your channel listing. No EPG info is available at this time, but that may change.
