5000HC Debug Port
5000HC Debug Port
On your computer, fire up a communications program (HyperTerminal, ZTerm, ProComm, Commo, etc.) and set the parameters to 115200 bps, 8 bits, No Parity, 1 Stop bit. Connect your computer via RS-232 port or use a USB-to-RS-232 adapter to the 5000HC RS-232 serial port using the same null-modem cable you would use to update a bin. Booting up and operating your receiver will give you debug output to your computer screen.
For fun, try autoroll on and off and see the difference in the output. Play a recording and notice that the emulation is still running and storing to the buffer. Press EPG and see what happens. Gives you an idea of the complexity of these bins, doesn't it?
