Bev new freesat to be on nimiq 4 @ 82*
Bev's new freesat will be broadcasted from nimiq 4 at 82 degrees, they have 8 transponders in the ka band on that bird, now the rumers say that it will be broadcasted in ka band and I for one believe this to be true, bev plans to do this, so they can sell hardware to make their profit, On the other hand bev also will be sending up nimiq 5 which will also have so many ka band transponders, but half of that bird will be leased to di$h net, their freesat service may be delievered from here as well, but only time will tell, They are in it for the money, and money talks, I can see the CRTC steping aside and letting bev go ahead with this program, but myself as a installer i cant wait, more dishpointing, more money, more time to test new hardware....

The Ka band (Pronounced: "Kay-A Band") covers the frequencies of 26.5-40GHz[1]. The Ka band is part of the K band of the microwave band of the electromagnetic spectrum. This symbol refers to "K-above" — in other words, the band directly above the K-band. The so-called 30/20 GHz band is used in communications satellites, uplink in either the 27.5 GHz and 31 GHz bands[2], and high-resolution, close-range targeting radars aboard military airplanes. Some frequencies in this radio band are used for vehicle speed detection by law enforcement[3].
The designation "Ka-band" is from Kurz-above, which stems from the German word "kurz" meaning short. The Ku band (pronounced "kay-yoo") is a portion of the electromagnetic spectrum in the microwave range of frequencies. This symbol refers to "K-under" (in the original German, "Kurz-unten", with the same meaning)—in other words, the band directly below the K-band. In radar applications, it ranges from 12 to 18 GHz according to the formal definition of radar frequency band nomenclature in IEEE Standard 521-2002. [1][2] Ku band is primarily used for satellite communications, most notably NASA's Tracking Data Relay Satellite used for both space shuttle and ISS communications. Ku band satellites are also used for backhauls and particularly for satellite from remote locations back to a television network's studio for editing and broadcasting. The band is split into multiple segments that vary by geographical region by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). NBC was the first television network to uplink a majority of its affiliate feeds via Ku band in 1983. and for getting it we cant as of yet, but I and many more are working on it...Dire#t TV has a ka band receiver so it is possible . Cheers............
