Dn Executives Split for Spin Off
Some executive moves are being made around EchoStar's planned split into two separate companies.
In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing released this week, EchoStar said company veterans Michael Dugan and C. Michael Schroeder intend to resign from the board of directors after completion of the company's planned spin-off of EchoStar Holding Corporation.
Dugan and Schroeder will continue as directors of EchoStar Holding Corporation following completion of the spin-off, the company said.
Dugan is listed a senior advisor to the company. He has been with EchoStar since 1990, recently serving as chief technical officer. Dugan also was president and COO of EchoStar from April 2000 to April 2004, and prior to 2000 he was president of EchoStar Technologies Corporation.
Schroeder has served on EchoStar's board since November 2003 and is a member of the company's audit committee and executive compensation committee. In 1981, Schroeder founded Consumer Satellite Systems, which he grew into a 10 state distribution system, as well as a programming division that was part of the entity.
EchoStar is planning to split DISH Network DBS assets from the rest of the company. The spun-off portion that would become EchoStar Holding Corporation would include the company's receiver manufacturing, antennae and commercial satellite assets.
