Forgive me if this is has been addressed previously, but Ive searched and tried everything that Ive found. Nothing has worked and I cant really find anything too specific for my problem.
Heres the details: VS Ultra Lite Dish500 DP Plus Twin LNB EchoStar 7 - 119.0W and EchoStar 10,11 - 119.0W Background: About a week ago my feed went black, figured we were down. Checked the site, no problems reported, called a friend with same setup, said his was fine. Got antsy and started messing with it. Reloading bins and whatnot. Finally just used the cleaner and then Factory default. Set it up just like I always have, and now I get most of the same channels, no freezing or anything, but I just cant get the EPG. I tried all the settings and frequencies Ive found all over the internet. Nothing works. Now I have a feeling the say file was loaded incorrectly or something. Ive done the cleaner and restored to a virgin state and the factory default as I mentioned. I cant get the guide to download to save my life. Lastly I wanted to mention that when I change the frequencies in the EPG screen, when I pull up the frequency list the tops of the menus read as follows: E says "EPG TP Set (Echostar 7) and N says "EPG TP Set (Nimiq 13) I dont use the Nimiq sat does that make a difference? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. If this has been addressed, I apologize. A simple link to point me in the right direction would be awesome. --s0nn3 |

I really appreciate the replies....
Set E and N on default... Im guessing that I am setting the EPG standby time to the next available hour. So that it will download it on its own. Next question.. does anybody have any idea why it would all of a sudden not be able to get the guide after I load a new sat file or after any of the things that I mentioned above? Also, will I have to rely on the EPG Standby to get the guide every time? Thanks alot guys. EDIT: Ive got nothing. Its been on ch 200 for an hr and a half. Still No Information. Should I wait longer? |

Hi s0nn3. Let's see if I can help ya. We will start here. Good luck.
HOW TO GET VIEWSAT EXTENDED PROGRAM GUIDE (EPG) The two things that will cause the EPG to show "No Information" is "Time Zone" and "SAT Signal". 1. Incorrect "TIME ZONE": will not display the correct EPG. 2. "SAT SIGNAL": Even if you are getting good Signal and good Quality, but if the SAT Signals are reverse, for example, in ANTENNA SETUP, you selected EchoStar 8,10 110W, but it return at the top right and display signal is EchoStar 7 119W, that means your switch port was set wrong, this will result with "No Information" to display in EPG. To fix the problem you have to set the right switch port in the Antenna Configuration to the satellite that you are pointed at. 3. CORRUPTED SATINFO FILE: This problem is only for Viewsat Platinum/Lite or Extreme. To fix problen you can reload the SATINFO file. Once you check your set up and everything is correct, your EPG will populate as your watching TV, or go to channel 200 (CNN USA) or channel 239 (Superstation WGN).

I had a feeling that the sat file I loaded was the problem. I thought that using the cleaner file and the factory file would maybe somehow set it back to the original sat file. Is that true? Im currently at work, but I will test out JD717s suggestion as soon as I get home. Again guys, I really appreciate it. I will post back with results.

Well JD717 was right about me reversing the signals on the satellites. So I switched them back, hard booted it. Let it sit at ch 200 for awhile. It only found like 5 channels, should I load the cleaner file and do a factory default and try and set it up all over a again?

I would clean it back to factory (remember your settings) and install latest bin, do a fresh sat scan and go from there

Im going to load the "PFTAUSW Cleaner-UL" file and the "VS Ultra Lite Factory File V0112"and do a factory default. Will that erase any and all files Ive loaded? Including the sat info file labeled "VS Ultra Lite Factory Sat Info File U00D"?
EDIT: What about loading an older Sat Info file? Is that a possibility? |
